LWML Ohio DistrictIn The Word:
This is he who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.

Stamps for Missions

Women in the Ohio District have been saving stamps for a number of years.  The best stamps to save are FOREIGN and COMMEMORATIVE.  A commemorative stamp is a stamp issued to commemorate (recognize) a historical or memorable event, a U.S. State, popular movies, sports or the Olympics, awareness (breast cancer, missing children, etc.), or to honor a person.  The subject of the commemorative stamp is usually spelled out in print.  It is normally larger than a common stamp.

Please allow at least ΒΌ inch margin around the stamp when cutting it off the envelope.  If the stamp is damaged in any way, do not keep it.  It is worthless to a collector.  You are encouraged to use commemorative stamps so that the recipient can save it for our Stamps for Missions project.  Unused sheets of stamps are accepted as well as stamp related materials.  If you have post cards dated earlier than 1940, save the entire post card rather than removing the stamp.

Bring cancelled stamps in a zip-lock bag to any LWML Ohio District Zone event, Bd. of Directors meeting, or Ohio District Convention.  It is helpful to separate the commemorative from the foreign stamps.  ALL money received from these stamps goes directly to LWML "Mites".

Foreign Stamps.  Did you know English stamps often have the head of the queen on them?
